After years of collecting minerals from the earth, Sean Smokovich has gained a unique understanding of the experience of finding stones in their natural environment. The long, patient and intricate process necessary to form these crystals inspired Sean's respect for them and their cycle of growth. His experience within those realms allowed him the unique opportunity to view minerals in their earthly womb. In the beginning of his career, Sean utilized the stones that he found in the field to create his first works. As his knowledge of the crystal realm grew, his craftsmanship also grew and became more elaborate. He began to select higher quality stones for his jewelry from a caliber of finer and more colorful gemstones coming from parts of the world such as Brazil, Africa, Burma, and Madagascar to name a few. Learning hands on how stones grew inspired Sean to produce each piece of jewelry with the purest intention and gratitude for the forces that created them.
Sean feels that he is driven by the force that fuels each season to come and go, the force that sustains life, the force that tells a flower bud to open and share its beauty. He feels that these are the energies that are responsible for both the amazing growth of these stones and the creation of his works. It is Sean's path and intention to give a piece of that flame back to the creator in a form of shared and complete beauty. It is his duty as a steward of the stone to carry them forth on the rest of their journey, to bring them along on their divine path and to help share and honor their beauty and essence.
